Certificata Signing & Hacking Guide
Introduction.
In this tutorial i will guide you through getting your certificate, signing a sis and hacking your phone with the HelloOX2 patch in order to install unsigned apps. And obviously i take no responsibility for your screw ups, messed up your phone? not my problem.
(In my opinion this is fool proof and it’s almost impossible to cause any damage so don’t be scared, Smurf will hold your hand and everything will be just fine, Okay? Good.)
The first step to installing unsigned applications and/or games on your symbian phone is obtaining the certificate, it’s absolutely necessary wether you like it or not. The motivation for following through with this guide is: “Sign one, Install all”
Part One – Getting your certificate.
Let’s get started, find your phones IMEI number by opening the phone dialer and typing *#06# This number is unique for every phone and will be used to generate your unique certificate. Write it down.

Did you know?
The International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI is a number unique to every GSM and WCDMA mobile phone, as well as some satellite phones. It is usually found printed inside the battery compartment of the phone. It can also be displayed on the screen of the phone by entering *#06# (Nokia) into the keypad. The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid devices.
Now that you have the IMEI you must submit it to one of those sites that will generate the certificate for your phone. There are a few different sites you can use, most of them are in Chinese, the one Im using is bilingual so it should be easy to navigate. Let’s get started.
- Navigate your browser to OPDA certificate website: [Link] (You can select English language in the top right hand corner)

- Proceed with the pictured steps below.

Note: Here are some possible errors you might get in Chinese and their translations:

Note: Phone number should be 11 digit starting with 13 or 15, that’s the format for local chinese mobile phone numbers, example: 13123456789

Note: The certificate can be obtained as quick as within 6 – 12 hours but it can take up to 48 hours to generate depending on how busy their servers are, be patient.

So your unique certificate and key files are freshly baked and ready to be abused. Download both of them to your PC by clicking the corresponding links just to the right of the certificate state.
Note: When you download the certificate and key they might not have a file extension, make sure you name the files correctly! (Certificate should be called: “certificate.cer” and key should be called: “key.key”)
This completes the first part of my tutorial, you are now ready to sign.
Part Two – The Unsigned
Files don’t sign themself so you will need a tool to do it, now that you are ready to put that certificate to good use, download SISigner below”
File size: 664.19 KB
Downloaded 1731 times
Extract SISigner.exe to your PC, for convinience i recommend keeping certificate and key files in the same directory as SISsigner.
Open SISigner.
- Select the file you want to sign
- Select your certificate (certificate.cer)
- Select your key (key.key) – Key file from OPDA is not password protected, keep password field blank
- Press the “Sign!” button (Your unsigned file will be rewritten, if you still need the unsigned copy, make a backup first)
Shortly you will get a message from command prompt that your file signing was a success. Close it.
You can now install the signed file to your phone
Part Three – To Hack or Not to Hack
Having a certificate lets you sign applications and games, which is good, but it can get troublesome after a while. Luckuly for us there is a better solution. You have the option of hacking your phone which will allow you to install anything and everything without having to sign it. This will give you the benefit of installing unsigned apps directly to your phone. If this is how you want to roll, read on my freind.
HelloOX2 is an One step Hacking tool for all Symbian S60 3rd & 5th phone.
Hacking mean that it can get full access to your phone’s system folders and files, with this capability, HelloOX2 could install a root certificate to your phone, and with the root cer & key pair you could sign any apps to install, include the Manufacturer capabilities requested apps. Completely fix annoying certificate error!HelloOX2 official website: http://helloox2.com/
Sounds good right? Let’s begin by downloading HelloOX2 v2.01 below
File size: 187.59 KB
Downloaded 1053 times
This is an Unsigned Application so you still must sign it with your OPDA certificate, if you have actually been reading this tutorial and not just scrolling through you would remember these words: “Sign one, Install all”
Sign HelloOX2 and install it to your phone.

Almost there, Find the newly installed HelloOX2 on your phone and open it, everything will be done automatically and takes less then a minute, doesn’t get easier then this!
The technical stuff about what it’s going to do to your phone is nothing for you to worry about, but just in case you are curious here it is:
1. Map drive
2. Unpack Hacking files to the virtual drive
3. Activate the file system
7. Unmap virtual drive
4. Install root certificate
5. Optional Install ROMPatcher (by Zorn, leftup)
6. Optional Install Modo (a full system files access file manager by leftup)
8. Done!
Notes:
ROMPatcher is just a bundle app included in HelloOX2, it is not supporting by us, applying install-server patch in it should let you install any unsigned apps.
Okay-la Watch it in action in the following screen shots from my Nokia 5800 (Monkey see, Monkey Do):

HelloOX2 has finished hacking your phone, all that’s left to do is activate the certificate patch, you will notice that a new app has been installed called ROMPatcher, open it and apply the Installserver_FP2 patch. Note: If you restart your phone that patch will be deactivated, to make sure it doesn’t, add it to auto start.

And that’s all folks, never have to sign another file again

I did my 5800, just be careful with phone number part, my number wouldn’t work so I used 13581527995 found it in the forums so I don’t think you need to use your real number, I might be mistaking ! Smurf help me out here!
August 24, 2009 - 3:41 pm
No, your real phone number will not work because it’s not from a Chinese network, Mine is from China Mobile because I live in China! so I used my real number. You can make up any 11 digit number but it must start with 13 or 15, so like this: 13XXXXXXXXX or 15XXXXXXXXX Replace the “X’s” with 9 random numbers like this: 13269854633 or 15478521144

August 25, 2009 - 5:26 am
my last post meant to say register instead of sign in and the copy paste of the chinese characters showed allright in the commentbox but after posting they changed to ??????.
Whatever i try, i can’t get an account.
And like Ashby2508 i like to know how i can do this with a I8910.
August 25, 2009 - 9:34 am
I got my certificate
Going to finish the rest if this guide soon!
August 25, 2009 - 9:39 am
Ashby2508, Try put in 5800 or n97 if i8910 isn’t working, I don’t think the model of the phone matters because when i first applied for my certificate months ago they didn’t require the phone model, only your IMEI
August 25, 2009 - 9:41 am
MrE make sure your username isnt taken and you give a valid email address

That means username taken
August 25, 2009 - 1:51 pm

August 25, 2009 - 3:15 pm
Smurf, maybe you should warn the not so bright (like me) that after you succesfully make a account you will receive a Chines message in red (and that it doesn’t necessarily mean that something went wrong).
i am now the proud owner of about 600 accounts.
August 25, 2009 - 3:33 pm
@ MrE
i will chinese error codes, but if you do it in english you should recieve an english success message
August 25, 2009 - 5:33 pm

Ready and waiting Smurf
August 25, 2009 - 5:36 pm
Got mine as well!
Should I download the files?
Ready and waiting also!
August 25, 2009 - 5:41 pm
@Smurf.
Thanks for the help.
Next problem i encountered:
I get, like Ashby2508, a message saying that my IMEI number isn’t correct.
Regardless what type of phone or phonenumber i choose.
Does the IMEI number have to include te /# at the end or only the 14 numbers before the / ?
Do the IMEI numbers also have a area code in it that could be the reason why it will not work?
My IMEI begins with 3587 can something be concluded from this?
I also would like to hear from Ashby2508 if he got it working in the meantime and what he did to work around his problem.
August 25, 2009 - 5:44 pm
Great Smurf!
Now I’ve gotta wait till I get back from work. Can’t download or install any executables here on the network.
So I gotta have some patience again! Manual seems very clear!
Thanks!
August 25, 2009 - 5:44 pm

Thx for the easiest Tutorial i have seen

August 25, 2009 - 10:14 pm
MrE, IMEI needs to be 15 digits, if you can email me your IMEI and i will try my best to help you get a certificate. If you decide to do that, use the contact form here http://www.symbianplay.com/?page_id=829
August 25, 2009 - 10:24 pm
AH! my operation was a succes!!
Through some other sources i understood that the / in the IMEI has to be left out and the number behind the / must be used as well.
at 22:21 tonight i can check back it seems.
August 25, 2009 - 10:25 pm
Thanks for the offer Smurf. But i’m getting there, crawling, but i’m getting there

August 28, 2009 - 4:47 pm
Dear Smurf, thanks for this guide, it’s very easy too follow, well explained and all.
Looks to me I also hacked my phone now(starting to feel like a pro LOL).
Question left:
Does helloOX needs to stay(installed) on the phone?, after installing helloOX I got the message: “everything done, you can uninstall me now” …….I didn’t uninstal yet, waiting for your answer…..
Other question:
Just tried to install touchofart(after downloading unsigned version directly to my phone), but that didn’t work. I thought all this hacking was supposed to be that everything could be installed?, or did I understand wrong?
Anyways, thanks for the great guide.
August 28, 2009 - 7:58 pm
You can uninstall helloox2, Yes the hacking is suppose to make everything install, you are using i8910 right? Did you activate the install server from rom patcher? If you did have you restarted your phone since? It could have been deactivated. Last thing thatcould cause the problem is your device itself, i know it works on nokias but not too sure about Omnia HD
August 29, 2009 - 5:04 am
yep, i8910, that’s correct, I also activated install server(and added it to auto), and yes, I did restart after all installations(at night I always shut my phone completly down, don’t want to be disturbed while asleep), but you got a point, maybe it was deactivated and I didn’t check that, so maybe there’s the problem. I will find out when I get the chance. At last as you say, it might be just that I am using the i8910?, who know’s….
August 29, 2009 - 1:13 am
